I’m Kim Wakem, a small-town girl with a kind heart and a love of all things organized. I own Talbot West Organizing and am a Certified Ultimate Professional Organizer™.
My Story...
Organizing, decluttering, and helping your neighbour are deep routed in me. I was maybe 9 or 10, and I remember going through the playroom and packing up all the toys I no longer played with. The boxes of toys were donated to a local family who were down on their luck. It felt great to make my own life simpler and to help someone else out as well!

I come into the professional organizing community from an unconventional background. For over 20 years I worked in the cancer genomics and biotechnology fields as a medical, technical, and regulatory writer. I loved certain aspects – like the need for extreme attention to detail and organization - but eventually the stress became too much, and it was time for a change.

Once I decided to turn my hobby of organizing and decluttering into a career, I took a professional organizing course and graduated from the Ultimate Academy®. The decision to start Talbot West Organizing came after watching older relatives worry and struggle over decluttering, downsizing and moving. As a Certified Ultimate Professional Organizer™, I know how challenging it can be to sort through and declutter a lifetime of memories and treasures.
